Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Simple Scenarios website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by TailoredAI LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes the organization.

1. The Service

Simple Scenarios is a turn-based simulation workbench. Users join scenario "runs" in which they play roles, exchange messages with other participants and AI-controlled counterparts, receive AI coaching, create and share materials ("artifacts"), and review deterministic turn resolutions and debriefs. Scenarios are fictional training exercises. Even where a scenario references real-world organizations, programs, or public source material, the gameplay facts, numbers, constraints, and outcomes are fictionalized and are not statements of fact about any real person or organization.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to purchase packs.
  • Accounts are created and managed through our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • If you join or create an organization, organization administrators control membership, shared simulations, and the organization's billing balances.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.

3. Free trial, packs, and AI credits

  • New accounts receive a one-time free trial of scenario runs and AI credits at the levels described on our pricing page. The trial does not renew.
  • Paid usage is sold as prepaid, one-off packs of scenario runs with pooled AI credits, plus optional AI-credit top-ups. Packs are not subscriptions, do not renew, and granted balances do not expire. Packs stack — buying another pack adds to your balance.
  • A scenario run is consumed when a run is started. AI credits are consumed by metered AI work: 1 credit per AI text action (an AI player decision, turn-resolution step, coach reply, or artifact draft) and 10 credits per generated image.
  • If you enable auto top-up, we will automatically purchase additional credits with your saved payment method when your balance drops below the threshold shown in your billing settings. You can turn auto top-up off at any time.
  • If you belong to an organization, packs attach to the organization and are shared among its members; otherwise they attach to your personal account.

4. Payments and refunds

  • Payments are processed by Stripe through our billing provider, Autumn. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Prices are stated in U.S. dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout.
  • Consumed runs and credits are non-refundable. For wholly unused packs, contact us at info@tailoredai.solutions within 14 days of purchase and we will work with you in good faith. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have.

5. AI-generated content

The Service uses large language models and image-generation models to power AI counterparts, coaching, drafting, and artifact generation. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and may not reflect real-world facts. It is provided for training and practice within fictional scenarios only and is not professional, legal, financial, medical, military, or procurement advice. You are responsible for any decision you make based on the Service.

If AI capacity is unavailable, the affected run will visibly block, offer retries, or let a human take over a seat. We do not fabricate AI gameplay or outcomes during outages, and runs may be delayed accordingly.

6. Your content

  • "Your Content" means scenario templates you build, messages you send, artifacts and files you create or upload, and other material you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of Your Content.
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service — including sending relevant content to our AI providers to power gameplay features. Our providers are contractually restricted from using this API content to train their models.
  • Content you share in a run is visible to that run's participants; run listings are visible within your organization. Choose audiences carefully.
  • Do not upload content that is classified, export-controlled, contains another person's sensitive personal data, or that you do not have the right to share. The Service is a practice environment, not a system of record for regulated data.
  • You are responsible for Your Content. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to develop plans intended for real-world harm;
  • attempt to bypass usage metering, access controls, organization boundaries, or rate limits;
  • probe, scan, or disrupt the Service, or access it with automated agents except through features we provide;
  • misuse AI features to generate content that is illegal, infringing, or harassing, or to extract our prompts or providers' model weights;
  • resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without our written agreement; or
  • misrepresent AI-generated simulation output as factual records of real events or real organizations.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, built-in scenarios, prompts, and branding — is owned by TailoredAI LLC or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Feedback you give us may be used without obligation to you.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers, including Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting, storage, analytics, and AI gateway), Upstash (data store), OpenAI (AI models), Autumn (billing), and Stripe (payments). Their availability affects the Service, and your use of payment features is also subject to Stripe's terms. See our Privacy Policy for how data flows to these providers.

10. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including the built-in scenario library. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend accounts that present security, legal, or abuse risks.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAILOREDAI LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

13. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service or request account deletion at any time by contacting info@tailoredai.solutions. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms; where practical, we will give notice and a chance to cure. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 8, and 11–16) survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give reasonable notice — for example by email or an in-product notice — before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in the State of Washington, United States will have exclusive jurisdiction, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days.
